1997-2007

Continuous Improvement

With the club ownership and management solidified, improvements continued. It took five years of planning, but the men's card room was finally remodeled in 2005. A sink and counter were removed, and that opened up a doorway from the grill room to what is now called the Lion's Den.

Club Philosophy

The members' commitment to charities also showcased the club's philosophy. In 2001, the Yorba Linda Women's Golf Association held their first charity golf tournament to raise funds in support of breast cancer research and women battling disease. Funds were raised in memory of Gloria Ditch and Betty Day- both of which were active members of the WYLWGA-- for the annual event, known as the Gloria Ditch memorial Breast Cancer Tournament.

Since 1985, the club has raised money for Canyon Acres Children and Family Services with the annual Par Fore Kids Golf Classic. The tournament has more than two hundred guests annual from all over Orange Country. The owners, members, and employees of the Yorba Linda Country Club have, for the past thirty years, generously donated the facilities, food, and personnel for this event. This unprecedented generosity results in almost every dollar received going directly to benefit the children and families served by Canyon Acres.

There were also tennis fundraisers. One of the most popular was Jim Burton memorial Tennis Classic. The fundraiser began in 1985 as the tennis club's first charity tennis tournament. The proceeds were donated to St. Jude Hospital's Mobile Health Van.
